What the mosquito is for?
The female mosquito, in addition to possessing an extraordinary capacity for adaptation that has taken it from predation on dinosaur skin to predation on human skin with no evolutionary issues, is a creature completely unto itself. Unlike other insects, it does not pollinate plants (the male mosquito pollinates a little), does not improve soil ventilation, and does not feed on waste. Contrary to popular belief, it is not even a source of essential food for other animals. It has no other purpose than to propagate its own kind. Its role as an alpha predator across the odyssey of human history may be interpreted as a countermeasure to the uncontrolled growth of the human population.
